I believe that the purpose of therapy is to grow and heal, to increase awareness about our thoughts, motivations, behaviors, and feelings. Therapy provides a safe space to share and explore ourselves where we do not have to reciprocate the holding. It is a unique relationship between therapist and client where deep trust is built and vulnerability is fostered, yet the client does not have to worry about or tend to the needs of the therapist. In the therapeutic container anything can be shared and held while knowing that it is kept within the solid walls of confidentiality. As a client you get to be the center of focus without feeling guilty about taking up too much space or focusing on yourself. You don’t have to worry that what you share will leak out or become gossip. In the sacred space of therapy you get to bring your whole self and receive care, feel emotionally held and validated, and increase your awareness of your own inner workings in order to enact conscious change.
I am a heart-centered therapist with a collaborative approach to therapy. This means that I do not hold myself as the authority on you or your healing process. Each of us is unique and deserves to receive care which is modeled to meet our distinct needs. I believe that we hold the wisdom and insight within us that can guide us in our journey of healing and personal growth. I am dedicated to continuing my personal growth as a therapist and will always be involved in learning new modalities and deepening my understanding of psychology, neurobiology, transformational healing, spirituality, and trauma responsive practices.
